To: CD1105-02 The Prime Time Of Our Lives. Live it.

This post is dedicated to CD1105-02, my class. Oh wait, my family.
When I first set foot in The One Academy, all I could muster up was how much of a pain is it to do foundations and not going straight to my major. I mean c'mon, 14 weeks? That's a lot of 7's.
Looking back, I regret saying that, 14 weeks passed by in the snap of a finger. I wouldn't imagine that the class would be sewed together this close and now here we are, full of sorrow and lament on the last days together.
To be honest, last Wednesday during booklet presentation, this is what I wanted to say, but gave you guys an express version instead. So here it goes:
Scientists have proven that the human mind will lose their creative side as it "matures". So as a regular human grows older, they instill their "logic" to the world. Have you all realized that when we were smaller, everyone in the class knew how to draw, color or pull something interesting out of their imagination? Now that we're nearing our adulthood, how many of you still dress-up? Rant about how your Pikachu can't evolve? Talk about Digimon like no one's business? Or just be a plain goof?
Way back when the boys used to have an obsession for Digimon, Power Rangers and anything that's cool. When we used to swing toy swords around as if the whole universe depended on smacking our mom's leg with a paper sword because she didn't want to buy you an action figure. When we could cut out a prop and pretend to be a superhero, when we would grab a tower, tie two ends and run around the house as if we were men of steel. Way back before the superficiality of pop-culture, the protein formula to increase muscle mass, punches were thrown to each other, taunts were proclaimed, heartbreaks were experienced, before we worried about how we would be able to make a living, worrying that we can't earn much when we registered to TOA. What happened to the time when we just do it and hope for the best results possible, and if we failed, we'd do it again and again.
Way back when the girls used to believe in faeries, mermaid princesses, the power of compassion and of the pure heart. When you used to believe that Barbie was your BFF. What happened to "Girl Power" and the color Pink that ruled them all? When every girl thought that being Alice was just a toy block away, and a pink-colored, princess-themed bedroom inspired by Rapunzel was what you wanted? Before bug-eyed contact lenses, extremely micro-skirts, going gaga for Korean abs and wanting a facade of beauty to hide who you are inside. What happened to the girls who believe in inner strength and beauty? What happened to the girls who wanted a princess marriage?
Life used to be full of color, excitement, and the smallest things could trigger an orgy of fresh ideas. Now coming up with a 2 spread booklet is that hard. If God created Adam and Eve with naivete, then I think that this naivete should be at least kept within our hearts. Ironically I take the Serpent's temptation in the Garden of Eden as a symbolism for the phrase: "I was born smart, education fucked me up."
In my days sitting and lazing around the 3rd floor student lounge with friends, I noticed something. I had an epiphany. There is so much pessimistic ooze crawling to find a host within the walls of college. I've seen people who gave up on studies in TOA. People who try to persuade me to give up. I've seen people who didn't appreciate the opportunity. People who tried to say that it's impossible. I've met friends who's families wouldn't let them take up the design career. But we all know that behind Impossible is the phrase I'm Possible.
Raymond, I know you always got my back, and you're like a brother to me, but man, I'll miss your black humor if we split up next semester.
Bryan, your primal instincts for good music is what I can't afford to lose, the folder you gave me still rest within the depths of my music folder, it's like a blessing. And I'll miss your graphics.
Joshua, your awesome fro will be missed. When will I see the rawkstar who has impeccable skill with a sharpie again along with his concepts?
See Then, your stupidity will be missed, who'd provide my next class with plain humor if it's not you? You're a good friend.
Richie and Gus, you brought my inner child outward bound again. How long has it been since I spoke of Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh? And now that we're separating, whos' gonna talk about these awesome childhood stuff with me again?
Celine, you. are. awesome. Flat out. You're the only girl I met whom I can be open with so easily, and you play video games, that's a plus, really. Lemme let you in on a secret, your future boyfriend is a lucky man even though you'd drain his wallet, I'm sure he'll love you.
Vivian, you and your Japanese obsession. Who's gonna knock some sense into you that English dubs are equally great? And though I'm glad I won't be seeing Vocaloids after this semester, I'd miss their annoyance, those Spanish bastards.
Pei Ji, I'll miss your cooking if we don't end up in the same class, really. Who's gonna bake for the class again and be the subject of chickens?
Jonathan "Slim Shady" Thomas, you cheesy bastard, I'm afraid I won't be able to see the man with the coke can who looks like a Grafitti artist but loves anime again if we aren't in the same class.
I Ern and I-Vern, you two are very good Tekken players, only few people like you exist, and it saddens me that we won't be able to play another round again.
Chuan Xin, we didn't talk much, kinda sucks = / But judging from how close you are to I Ern and Priss, I'm sure you an awesome person, you'll still be missed. P.S. Don't be so nervous for presentation, chillax!
Jackson, your precision with releasing jokes via song references will be missed. No one's gonna be the Tallman after this I guess.
Priscilla, the kind girl who I rarely see smiling, I never got to see you smile for real though, but try to smile more and get rid of that >:I face next semester.
Shaun, listen up noob, who's gonna be the bauss of the class that loves Lolis? The one with the criticism for everything?
Curtis, your IT side of the brain has some Crytek Nanosuit built into it, who's gonna be the one who helps me with my presentations and videos? And who's gonna tell me stories about cats? meow.
Nick Ho, Who's gonna henshin into Kuuga after this? And who's gonna be the one who tells me of events like Comic-Con or tell me the latest cheap imports from Japan?
Nick Gan, your humor is full of lolz, man. Just full of lolz. And you're a great sketch artist. Even though we didn't talk much, I'm gonna miss you.
Maxe, who's gonna be the one with the awesome laptop that can run The Last Remnant? When can I see it run PROPERLY?! And who's gonna say some weird Korean greeting to me?
Yie Hang and Zhuang Yew, your stuff are brilliant works of art, I'll miss them, really. I hope your minds will be full of fresh ideas.
And from the bottom of my heart I offer you my sincerest apologies for all the wrongs I've done, even though I'm yet to be sure if this apology will suffice. I'm sorry if my jokes went too far from time to time. I apologize for the rudeness that I've projected to certain situations. I'm sorry for being an obnoxious, loud nuisance to the whole class with my loud voice which I can;t keep under control. After all I make mistakes too, I'm human after all.
If our farewell is permanent, I want to deliver you this message, a message I hope that you all will keep for the rest of your days in The One. I'm sure you've all seen the Ambigram I made during the presentation. Some of you might not be able to read it, some of you can, in first try. To those who are able to, congratulations, and for those who couldn't, try harder. It reads "Imagination" no matter how you flip it 180 degrees. Imagination is the steadfast force that could propel you to greatness. It is the infinite source of the peace of mind, and the unwavering power that rests within everyone. You need to utilize this. Think back to the days when we were kids, when everything was possible and the sky's the limit. Rend asunder those who try to get in your way and forge on your pathway to greatness. Because in the end of the day, I realized that my greatest Avalon, my paradise; was my Imagination, ever so steadfast just like all of yours.
These following years in The One Academy of Communication Design, will be the prime time of our lives. So live it.
-Sincerely,
Jonathan Law.

Oh do I miss this blog!
Indeed I do. I finally took time to realize how long has it been since I sat down on my old leather black chair, typing to this same page where I have left so many marks. It's been a pretty normal life after the dreaded SPM, I guess. Though applying the word "dreaded" would be me, over-exaggerating on SPM's difficulty. Trust me SPM candidates, it's easier than you think it is.
After SPM I took time to actually feel free from studies and start my metamorphosis into a makeshift sloth. Video games were played, friends were met and goodbyes were said. After that, it was a period of overwhelming boredom, so bored I was that I was determined to find a job. And so I did. I applied to work ad Golden Screen Cinema Mid Valley hoping to be placed in the ticketing booth. But the supervisors had something else in mind for me, for me to be a "steward" or so they say. Steward is a word too simple to define what my job description for RM3.40 an hour. In the mornings I have to traverse the maze of the cinema exits to turn on the air conditioning and lights on. After that I would need to do hourly hall checks for faulty infrastructure or couples who are getting a little too "friendly". I needed to check if the ads are playing. Once I actually got to breathe, they tell me to go to the checkpoint to tear tickets and smile at the customers. Those of you who go to the movies might think stewards have it easy, but think again. The next time you bring me for a movie in Mid Valley, trust me, the next set of shows will be canceled since I will bring you on a air-conditioning sabotaging tour ala Jonathan Law.
After just a few days in GSC I applied to work at a Computer Games store that I regularly go to in order to find my video games. I figured if I could combine my knowledge in computers and amateur sales skill, I could earn a few bucks to spend on things I'd like. It's been 2 months now and this will be my last month working there. It's been a pleasure meeting new people and helping those in need of games installation. Friends visit me regularly to keep me company and for that I appreciate each and everyone of you!
For my next act in this tale of life. I will work until the 7th of April and by then I'll have a month's worth of holiday before I move on to my freshman year in college.
Hopefully, without my regular work schedule of 10A.M. - 10 P.M. , I will be able to write more to this blog, to share my thoughts with all of you.
For now this is Jonathan Law, signing out for the time being.

At World's End

This time I'll be a man of few words, at let the video do the talking. I find myself pondering much about the racial constitution of the world, and as the thoughts build up, I just needed to let it off my chest. So here's my fat face making a fool out of myself in front of a camera, enjoy.
P.S. I'm sorry if you can't hear me, my camera is just a webcam.

Unity

Unity. Racial Integration. Familiar words that ring in my ear this year. The government spending on the oversized billboards, posters and advertisements of the 1 Malaysia catchphrase our "brilliant" Prime Minister has brainstormed.
I've always been blatant on the subject of politics and racial matters. And since I've heard of the whole 1 Malaysia deal, all I could mutter was "It's not going to work." Some tried to prove me wrong, some shrugged me off, some agreed with me. It is now, my dear readers, September 23 of the year 2010. What has 1 Malaysia truly achieved? Has this...."resolution" no wait, that is not the valid word. Excuse me, let me rephrase, this failure of a facade to hide the fires of racial capitalism achieved? Ask yourself that.
I have the most appropriate answer. Apart from the flashy parades and an extra holiday all I can say that it has achieved nothing so far in this country of corrupted politics, nothing. In my humble opinion, 1 Malaysia's slogan "Rakyat Didahulukan, Pencapaian Diutamakan" should be changed to "Melayu Didahulukan, Pencapaian Diabaikan" Because that is all that 1 Malaysia has done. The country playing its' cards like a broken record, Malays get more perks from the government, leaving the other races behind and of course causing more and more arguments, as always.
But dissing 1 Malaysia isn't the main purpose of my being here blogging on this fine night. It is the phrase Divide and Conquer. The British used this method to divide the races and take over Pre-Independent Malaysia back in the Sepia-colored days. And how have they succeed, until our Father of Independence; Tunku Abdul Rahman changed that and made Malaysia a free-country. But today it was a feeling of Deja-Vu, oh yes, there was undoubtedly a allusion of Divide and Conquer in my very own school.
Long story short, since today there were trial exams for the students who are taking Tasawur Islam, Chinese Language and Tamil Language, the remaining students were subjected to "Motivational and Disciplinary" lectures from various lecturers. Sound ordinary? Think again. "May all the Chinese students please proceed to the Hall and the Indian students proceed to the library." As soon as I heard these words, the first that that comes into mind is Divide and Conquer, due to the fact that it was a Malay teacher who said that. How ironic, a miniature version of the old British game plan, mimicked by the people that they revolutionized.
Of course the Chinese students were indulged in Chinese lectures and the Indian students were filled in with Tamil lectures. I was against this whole idea of using mother tongues for lectures. When asked for feedback, all I did was state the fact that the lectures have failed at the aspect fo racial integration. And the reply I've received was "It's good to once in awhile have lectures in mother tongues for the students to feel comfortable amongst their own race. Because we did our subject workshops with everyone already." How good is it to have students curling up in the safety zone of their own race? Are we MalayChinDiaSia? or are we Malaysia? And finally, workshops for subjects are compulsory for all students to attend and it is not a motivational lecture. All I see is a De-motivational lecture today, again to feel safe in one's own race, apart from the content of the lecture itself (Which I found dull, due to the fact that it has been things that I've been counseling my friends about and I have thought myself about). But of course we all know the hidden agenda for these kinds of lectures; Getting Straight As To Ensure A Bright Future, To Honor Your Family, the Asian mindset, if you will.
We were once proud of our multi-racial community, now, it is the shell of it's former self, nothing more. That is what I've learned recently from reading my Mentor; Derek Kok's blog. Especially of the failure in our multi-racial community. Dear readers we are going nowhere if we do not abolish safety barriers between the races so that we can understand each other better. Do we need an event such as the Al-Quran burnings in the USA? Or the repetition of the lawsuit battle between the Muslims and the Catholic church?
I suppose I should quote from a Jedi Master.
"Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering."

Well that shows you how far we are behind our country's goal. Anyways, Jonathan here, signing out for now.

The Game Of Life
Before I start I'd like to thank Nathalie for the idea of this post, she thought that since I do game reviews I should do one about something else (no spoilers!) So I hope you guys enjoy this one.
P.S. This is going to be a long post.
_______________________________________
For this review I will judge the game on a few different aspects, which are; Story, Gameplay, Characters, Sound and Music, Graphics, and of course the final score for this game.
The name of the game is LIFE. Yes, just 1 word, LIFE. The developers and publishers of this game are unknown as of now. But rumors in the Vatican says that it was by someone named God, and the scientist from various countries claim that it was by Evolution. Either way, let's get on with the review.

LIFE's released date is also unknown, but the synopsis is that you will play as a person who starts off in your mother's womb and from there you will gain control of your character. Basically the goal of the game is to experience life, there is also Online play available, or you can even just stick to the single player mode. Either way, it's your choice. Also LIFE cannot be purchased at any game store, you need to wait for it to be delivered to you to start playing, unfortunately.
Story: The game takes place on our current time line on Planet Earth, each unit of life varies, mine started in 1993. But either way you will start the game inside your mother's womb then after 9 months of loading time, you will finally take control of your character. The game is pretty similar to Fallout 3, where you have to pick choices to shape your own story. After the baby stages, you will advance to childhood stage which is basically playing around all day without a worry, then the youngster period where you begin to go to school, adolescence stage where you continue up to high school, young adult stage where you go to college and adult stage where you get your first official job and then you will see the epilogue in the eyes of the elderly period. Each of these stages will have countless choices to choose from and they will shape the next stage of the story. However, the backdraw of the game is that you can't repeat the choices, the game offers no saving option whatsoever. So pick carefully. But in conclusion I would like to say that the story is full of depth and very down to earth. It totally has everything in it as far as I know (Since I'm still at the Adolescence Stage) It has almost everything, from drama, action, romance, thriller, horror... you name it, LIFE has it! LIFE's story is also so overwhelming that you'll feel attach to it.
Story: 9.5/10
Gameplay: Basically, LIFE is an Action/Adventure Game with a First Person point of view. IT also has Role-Playing Game elements. When you start of you can only crawl, once you've gained enough crawling level you will be able to walk, then run. You will also be able to handle multiple objects like computers, cellphones, even weapons like knives or guns once you've gained enough experience levels and wisdom levels. But the potency of handling these objects are affected by your judgement level. Let's say at one point in your life you are short of money, and you decide to rob a bank, if your judgement level is not high enough, your karmatic level will force you to rob a bank. Or maybe when someone enrages you and your character says he/she wants to slap the offender, if your judgement is not good, he/or she will slap that person with the consequence of losing a social link, or even worse; making enemies.
LIFE takes place on Earth as I earlier stated, you have access to a open-ended world, you can go anywhere you like in later parts of the game, provided if you have enough money. Though for the earlier part you will be forced to go to school to gain more levels in various areas like sports, arts, academics and much more. This will ultimately decide which college or university will go to, hence it will affect your future career choices. Again choice plays an important part in school, you have the choice to doze of during class, do other things or even skip school entirely and going somewhere else to raise your satisfaction bar.
The satisfaction bar fills when you do the things that you find enjoyable, be it from watching a movie to partying in a club, these activities will increase your satisfaction bar, but raising the bar will of course; consume your money, that is why it is important to obtain a job when you reach the adult stage to ensure the financial stability of your character.
Again I stress, you cannot save your game hence you cannot replay the area you've got a Game Over in and it's a single cycle game. If you cannot cope with your Health meter, you will pass away and ultimately ending the game, rendering it unplayable again. So you have to take care of yourself, the risks are always high. Most players die young on the streets, others are kidnapped by other players during online play in the city and then die, some even don't receive their copy of LIFE and they will be registered as dead.
You will also have access to social links, social links, AKA Friends and Family will also affect your character development by tipping your Karmatic meter. Bad influences will turn your character into a villain while good influences will keep your character in his/her hero mode. You will gain access to different social links throughout the game, most noticeably is the Parents social links that you obtain at the very start of the game. This will ultimately tilt your Karmatic meter towards one end, it depends on what kind of parents you get though. But no matter you can work your way to your desired end of the Karmatic meter. Be helping people or taking their life, you hold the choices in your hands.
You will also have a choice to dive yourself into a religion of your choice, in LIFE, you can pick any religion you want, or maybe you prefer to be an atheist? But to sum it all up, if you pick a religion, it will slightly tilt your Karmatic meter to a positive note and it will increase the level of your character's faith which will boost your character's judgement level.
Take note, when you do kill another person playing LIFE, it will not only tilt your Karmatic meter towards the villain side, but also will place you under police surveillance, and that person whom you have just murdered will get a Game Over ending his/her LIFE.
Marriage will also become once you have enough cash and when you have a spouse that you can engage to. Marriage will result in your character marrying another character whom you will live together for the rest of the game. And when you manage to have a family, LIFE copies will be sent out to other people to grant you a baby, thus making you that person's Parent social link.
The length of gameplay varies on how you play the game, some end the game at a young age due to death, some will ultimately finish the game and die of old age. The average game time you'll get is 50 years. Some are lucky enough to keep playing the game for over 100 years. I've also heard rumors that whatever you do in LIFE will affect the sequel that's coming to you called AFTERLIFE. So, with such variety, what more can you ask for with open opportunities of LIFE?
Gameplay: 10/10
Characters: As far as character goes, you build up your own persona during the course of the game and the characters/social links you meet vary depending on which unit of LIFE you get. But here are a few screenshots of the characters that I've met so far into this game:
People who can change the way you think about LIFE:

People who can teach you a thing or two when you play LIFE:

People that help you when you're losing the game:

Or people that makes LIFE seem a little more interesting when you meet them:

With that all I can say is you will meet a variety of people from all walks of life.
Characters: 10/10
Sound and Music: In LIFE, you can customize your own music, which is one of the best features of the game. The playlist available for your music can be changed depending on your mood and as you progress the game, more songs will become available. Currently my Playlist consist of works from Paramore, Jason Mraz and one of the most renowned contemporary composers; SHoji Meguro of his Shin Megami Tensei fame. The overral SFX of the game is superb since LIFE uses a technology ahead of our time to encode the audio.
Sound and Music: 10/10
Graphics: LIFE's graphics are undoubtedly gorgeous. The resolution of LIFE goes beyond your 1080p HD boundaries. The graphics are very realistic. You can see the details of a person's every hair strand even to the finest of wrinkles. Even the environment is beautifully projected with such detail that it can only be the work of one with divine skill.
Graphics: 10/10
I would like to say that LIFE gains a 10/10 from me. It is, by far one of the most exhilarating experiences I've ever had in my life. (no pun intended) For those of you who are reading this, lucky you, you've got your copy of LIFE!
Final Verdict: 10/10 Overall Score
__________________________________________________
And......done, I hope you guys enjoyed this and for those of you who's photos I've taken from your Facebook pages ever so secretly, I'm deeply sorry.
Also, credits for the epic sunset picture goes to Johnathan and his superb photography skill. And the game cover was a photoshop edit done by me.
ALright then, that's it from me for now. Remember, live that life of yours to the fullest.

And......done, I hope you guys enjoyed this and for those of you who's photos I've taken from your Facebook pages ever so secretly, I'm deeply sorry.
Also, credits for the epic sunset picture goes to Johnathan and his superb photography skill. And the game cover was a photoshop edit done by me.
ALright then, that's it from me for now. Remember, live that life of yours to the fullest.

Being Liberated frOm Generelization
Foreword: I have changed the overall look of my blog, and already got the little piano tune up and running again, hope you guys like it, do leave remarks on the comment box below or just say your say in the chatbox in the doobly-doo to the right of this page. Thank you in advance.
_________________________________________
See what does the 4 capitalized letters become when you turn them into an acronym? It spells Blog. And now I've come to know, after reading the deposit of thoughts of the masses from all walks of life, with different personae I finally realize that a blog is more than just a means to chronicle your life, more than just a personal blank slate for you to type out your deepest most overwhelming emotions in it. Some would write of a country's political flaws, some would write of their angst, some would write of their own beliefs and philosophy. What do these little voices, projected via text in your Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer window have in common?
They are free from the limitations of real life, from the generic society, they can be themselves. Hence the acronym; Being Liberated frOm Generalization.
Of course we are still limited from the "Cyber Police" but, ask yourself, in which plane do we have more space to express ourselves without the fear of being shunned upon? Little websites and Blogs, of course. No, I'm not saying that the Internet is a better place than real life, I'm just stating the fact that Blogs are a rather unique read, by which you cannot find at a local bookstore.
A Blog is the place where the artist of words do not fear the censor, the place where they can express themselves with almost boundless freedom. If you are wondering, then head over to my doobly-doo at the right side of this blog and scroll down to my linkage. Some of the most unique blogs I would say belongs to Mr. Derek Kok, my Public-Speaking mentor and attorney-in-training who shares his opinions for a better Malaysia, Lily Tan, a new friend that I've found from Kelantan who writes rather philosophical questioning of the world and tells tales of her loving family.
Of course there are people who misuse these blank slates to fill their dark desires. I'm not sure if my fellow readers who are reading this heard of Gary Ng. He was a notorious blogger who gained fame from posting his private sex tapes with various women in Singapore. A grotesque display of immorality indeed. Fret not, his blog has been apprehended by the admins, his fate in real life is still an enigma for me.
Though I encourage to those of you who don't have a blog to start one, it would be my pleasure to read your thoughts imprinted into a single HTML page.
With this I bid you all a pleasant night.
P.S. To all the SPM candidates, you guys have GOT to take it easy, really. XD

I'm back.
Ah, the familiar "New Post" page with a piano tune to accompany me as I write, how good to see you again, and hello, once again, my readers. It's been a long time, since I updated, huh? It's a pleasure for me to continue my life's chronicles in the form of these digitized alphabets. To be honest, that's not the main point, the main point being that...I have nothing to do and I can't sleep for some enigmatic reason, well to be honest it's because I'm feeling lonely and there's no one to talk to at this hour. I'm gonna skip all my usual wordplay and just type like my normal self for this one, hope you guys don't mind.
My life so far has been fun of ups and downs, and time sure flies, right? 2 more months till I face the music of SPM. Back to the subject at hand, yeah, I've been having an inconsistent life. Let's just summarize it from the top. I broke up with my first ever girlfriend because she didn't really appreciate me, from there, I lived more freely, free from her clutches. Then Ritchie introduced me to a girl which of course as usual, failed. Then I tried to become more well-acquainted with another girl, which yes, you've guessed it, failed. Then from my sorrowful clouds came a silver lining, someone very dear to me, finally accepted my offer to be in a relationship with her, after a month, she broke up with me and of course left me in shattered pieces.
From there, friends came to my aid, Ritchie, Nathalie, Nizam, Teck Hui all came to comfort me in their own, special unique way. I owe them the greatest of debts, thank you guys, I really appreciate that. It took almost 2 months to fully recover, and in the midst of my lamenting I was pushed to the edge with Public Speaking practice which I had to go to. Then, after reuniting with an old friend, Trester, meeting a few new ones and befriended the St. Marians, I slowly got back on my feet, because of all of you, I've become a more improved individual and cleaned up my act and also forget about my past anguish. It is safe to say that all of you are the best friends I could ever have. Thank you, Trester, Amirul, Anis, Adlinur, Josey and of course Su Ann. The Pesta Ria the St. Marians held was definitely the icing on top. And yes, Su Ann, I still love that Rojak.
The names mentioned above didn't just help me, each of them taught me something, Trester taught me that I should be patient, and have a little faith in both people and God. Amirul taught me that if you love someone, stay true to that feeling, patience is the key to a woman's heart. Anis taught me that love will find it's way no matter what, and she made my fandom towards Paramore THAT much more serious. Adlinur made me realize that guys like me are extinct (In a good way) and that girls aren't all that superficial. Josey AKA Jocelyn taught me the ways of taking it easy through the music of Jason Mraz, and she was responsible for me to meet the next person. Su Ann taught me the greatest of all lessons, that we can not give up, no matter what and that we should always perform our best at anything, she also got me into reading the wonderful works written by Cecelia Ahern and reignited my passion for a certain yellow sponge living under the sea. Thank you again to all of you, I love each and everyone of you to bits!
And of course there was my fun time with Amin and Ronald at the robotics competition, even though we lost, we still had fun, especially chanting Chong Hwa's name for beating the arrogant St. John's robotics squad. CHONG HWA! CHONG HWA!
Oh, also, today I went Ice Skating again with Yen Yi with her boyfriend and 2 others, really had a fun time with you guys, especially causing havoc in MPH. And Casualtiy report: My limbs...HURT. A fraction of the skin on my left foot tore itself apart. But thank goodness I was improving and didn't lose my skill.
Speaking of skill, my dearest Piano teacher let me advance to grade 2! Finally, no more cartoon doodles in my books, and I'm that much closer to perfection! Gotta give it my all, right, Su Ann?
By the way, my sweet CPU just got an UPGRADE a month back, thanks to Ritchie for laying the final blow on my Graphics Card, now I have a much more better PC! So now I can finally play all those PC games that I always wanted to play.
Hmm...it's 3:14, I guess I better stop here.
Adios amigos~

Logic V.S. Creativity
It has been the popular assumptions of school these days to think that the science students are always superior to art students. Especially in this modern world where diplomas and degrees are prerequisites for careers. And SMK Maxwell has escaped this trend of stereotyping not. But is this assumption truly the ideal mindset for students these days? Ask yourself that.
I have shrugged off this subject for quite sometime and I feel that I should have my say on this. For the curious minds out there, it is the events these past few days that has drove me to post this. Last week it was the mentor-mentee program. But today was very different, it was the day I would officially receive my medal for robotics in front of assembly. (We won 3rd place last week and it was satisfying indeed as we are going to represent Sentul in the KL levels on the 10th of August.) After I entered class, my art teacher asked me "How did you get in?" and I was of course, confused and implored him to clarify his question. He rephrased and said "How did you get into the robotics team?" "Well I was chosen of course." I said confidently. My teacher lowered his voice and told me "Well, another teacher begs to differ, he was asking me why an art student was able to enter the competition." From that moment onwards, I was officially offended.
That lead to a deep conversation that involved me, Amin and my teacher. And here's what's important. This Science V.S. Art culture has been running for quite the time it seems. It seems that the school's hopes on competitions such as robotics, physics competitions (e.g. Rocket-building) are always on the science students. And when no one is willing to go, no representatives are sent. Yet, lo and behold, last year's entry for the rocket-building competition was designed by my own art teacher, and the team won 3rd. If that isn't proof enough that art students are overshadowed, look at our own robotics competition. I was the one giving ideas. Ron; our captain wanted 2 motors to run wheels to climb on poles and 1 to grab on the pole. The question is, how do we make it move back and forth? So, do science students seem all that bright to you? Not until the moment where I cracked the idea of rebuilding the robot from the ground up that we actually started progress.
Of course, I'm not implying that science students are stealing the spotlight. It's just that we art students are treated like useless garbage nowadays. Yet none of these people remember the joy of procrastination we art students choose as a lifestyle. Just because we cannot stand deadlines, doesn't mean we don't get work down. The adrenaline rushing as I rushed my art folio last week was pure bliss. Me, Nizam and a few more were dancing and singing to Billie Jean playing on the radio while coloring at the same time. Finishing projects has never been this good. And yet, we finished it by an extended deadline by 1 day.
Again let's take a look at successful individuals through the times. Bill Gates did not graduate beyond high school, yet without his idea of making the now world-renowned computer software we all know as Microsoft Windows, could I even write on this blog? Then again, would blogs even exist? The late Dato' Lim Goh Tong wasn't an academically exceptional individual. He stopped studying after he graduated primary school, yet, without his creative spark to build a business empire, could we be able to relieve stress every now and then at the famed Genting Highlands? This leads to the fact that when I ask "What career do you want to thrust yourself into when you're done with school?" to my science stream friends, most say "I dunno." or "I'm not sure." So, what's the point of packing knowledge like that if you're not going to use it? 9As mean nothing and you'll just be wasting your final year as a high school student chasing a fleeting dream that's non-existent. "It's important to get 9As." one friend said to me and I asked him "Would you prefer to apply a position as a encyclopedia?" In my humble opinion, even though we have the doors of choices unlocked, what's the use when we don't have a volition, an agenda for our future? It's better to concentrate on what you want to achieve in life rather than being a jack of all trades, master of none.
Knowledge is indeed power, but if it is not utilized, the individual is no different than a plant. If you find this post offensive, I offer you my sincerest and deepest apologies. The rest is silence, my dear readers.

The Master And Student
I was fairly disappointed, disappointed at the fact that SMK Maxwell prioritizes Science students and just abandon us art students. As if a bad line-up of this year's art faculty was bad enough... today was the lauch of Mentor-Mentee program for the form 5s. Now usually when one would arrange a program of such caliber, we would have a mentor guiding mentees of different abilities. Ours was SUPPOSED to be Strong students, followed by mild students, and weak students in a group. Of course depending on their academic levels, the mentor must adapt to the students, therefore, skilled teachers should counsel weaker students, not the ones that are already academically better, namely; most of the science students.
It was just offending that we; the art students are overshadowed by these so-called "exceptional" individuals... the school's "hope". Honestly, I never clapped for the science students, because they're typical to be the highlight of academic events. The smartest student in school, of course had been chosen, along with a few others who are great academic examples with a great mentor; my maths teacher. Groups after groups, the same faces show, along with the teachers I know and respect. Until it was my turn (yes, I was chosen), I was paired with a Chinese teacher. So let me get this straight, you pair the good students with good teachers and the average students with teachers we don't even know? Why don't you just make it a science-stream exclusive program and stop making a mockery out of us?
What good is it when you fill a cup which is already full? No, it doesn't necessarily mean that science students need to be accompanied by science-stream faculty. Wouldn't that make their job easier? What about us art students? What of OUR fate? Left for dead?

The Vox Populi
Vox Populi means the voice of the people, if you are all wondering.
Wondering why I'm not active again, huh? Well a lot of things happened recently and I prefer not to talk about them, except for one. 9 Days of public speaking training went by like a flash I tell you. I can still remember all the criticism and verbal-whipping I had throughout it. Of course today, was the competition, what I refer to as... WAR. I'm sorry, can't help but to say it because the only song that could motivate me was from 30 Seconds To Mars. Of course, the night before I kinda freaked out. In truth, I didn't expect this to happen...at all.
So today was competition day, woke up in the morning and donned my uniform, clad in a blazer due to prefectorial board formality reasons. AS I make my way to school I whispered my speech to see if I could recite it perfectly. Seeing that problem taken care off, I had a little confidence in me. S we made our way to St. Mary's, yes, the same venue from last year's inter-zone competition.(We being Ms. Sheila the teacher adviser, Mr. Derek KOK AKA the mentor and Johnathan Goh AKA the successor ) And when we reached there I saw a rather familiar face...Trester Kaur, who I dubbed Derek's pseudo-girlfriend...don't ask. And of course we got our breakfast, well most of us, Johnathan didn't eat. And GOD I miss St. Mary's good food that has ridiculously puny portions. So after that we entered the conference hall.
Let me tell you most of them looked intimidating, the competition that is. But in the process of calming myself down, I succumbed to Derek's advice. "Go and have fun, psycho them." He says. So I started talking to Trester, which eventually lead me to talk to the friends she's met and extended to almost the whole of the contestants. So there was a total of 13 schools, namely St. Mary's, Convent Sentul, Chong Hwa, Kiamas, and of cousre, SMP with their dreaded teacher adviser. A boring competition turned out to be rather entertaining. Status report for the prepared speech is:
1st Speaker (St. Mary's) : had a rather interesting topic; Body Language, but the intonation is...yeah.
2nd Speaker (SMP) : Wow, such a contrast from last year... this one is just like a flat-line.
3rd Speaker (Convert Sentul): Very well presented, with no mic at that. Interesting topic but rather informative, still, love the delivery.
4th speaker (not sure from which school) : Had decent delivery until she forgot her speech.
5th speaker (also not sure where she's from) : Very dramatic delivery, but generic topic on teenage blues.
6th speaker AKA Me : Well, Derek said that I lacked confidence in this one, but was more composed. Stumbled on a word though...
7th speaker (not sure) : Started okay, but freaked out.
8th (Kiamas) : TRESTER! Product of unity. Very witty speech, had a slight Chinese slang to it. I find the term Chinjabi very catchy.
9th speaker (SMK Bandar Baru) : Dude, nice speech. Love the snapping fingers and kids dying part. Poverty redefined.
10th Speaker (SMK Las Salle) : Topic had potential, (TV Commercials) but kinda boring...
11th speaker (not sure) : Very funny speech man, but perhaps too funny. But it was rather entertaining. How to speak in public, huh?
12th speaker (not sure too) : Very generic topic, Global warming. Delivery was okay.
13th speaker (Chong Hwa) : The one who got my respect, a Form 1 entering such competition, Derek freaked when he was talking about money. Oh the irony. He also had a standing ovation from the speakers.
Through the course of the competition I had more confidence fueling me. When we were quarantined in the waiting room... the psychological warfare begins. It ended up with Me, Trester, Amirul, and that other guy having a blast dilly-dallying our time there. So we were the calm ones, we even had time to tell jokes, listen to music and just making random noises. While the rest just went tense. When I was called into the quarantine room, and saw the topic "Entertainment", Ms. Sheila's final random topic from yesterday's practice came to mind...."Music" of course I added a little spice here and there. When I came out, I completed the deal that we would reveal the topic, whoever went first. So as Trester went in, I told her the topic for a few seconds' advantage. And Silent-shouted at my 2 other partners-in-crime just before I gave my speech. So I hoped I helped.
I didn't know what happened to the first 5 speakers, I heard the 3rd speaker did good though. But the 7th speaker had a nervous breakdown and puked, she pulled out of the competition as well. I think the lines "The rhapsody waltzing through the ages." "..like the latest phenomenon; Lady Gaga. Bad Romance, anyone?" and "The emotions on the silver screen." saved my speech. Trester quoted Adam Lambert, I think it was because of me. The guy after her did a wonderful speech, it sounded very intelligent, he redefined entertainment by saying that it isn't just the glits and glam but also creativity, he pulled off Issac Newton as an example, very well done. After him, it went significantly down, yet still rather entertaining.
After the competition, everyone had a sense of relief. We were just wasting time and talking. Getting to know each other, and hey me and that guy who talked about poverty might start a band! Derek and Ms. Sheila told me that I didn't have to win, because I did my best, so that was an extra relief. The time went flying so fast we didn't even feel it. And in the end the judges arrived back and we were back in tense mode. We were nervous, but went into a state where we were guessing who the winners are. I guessed that 3rd would go to either me or Trester, 2nd to the guy who talked on poverty who I find very entertaining and 1st would go to the girl from Convent Sentul. The poverty guy told me that I would win 1st but I thought that was preposterous. The results came in.
3rd was.... SMK Kiamas, Trester. So far I thought my prediction was correct.
2nd wen to.... St. Mary's. This is the part where I started panicking if I'm going to disappoint my friends and Derek.
Now here's the part all of you might not expect. The moment the MC said "And the 1st place goes to..." I was half praying it was either me or the poverty guy, or the convent girl. Then the MC continued saying "Contestant number 6, Law Sie Weng from SMK Maxwell." Immediately I went "HOLY SHIT!" to the poverty guy and Trester. Looked at my 3 supporters at the back. Johnathan had a smirk on, Derek was doing epic fist-pumps and Ms Sheila was clapping ever so proudly. I was of course overjoyed but kind of felt that others deserved it. Then I packed up my bags and made my way out, teachers were congratulating me, of course I was thanking them as well. And of course, my favorite part, fangirls, EVERYWHERE. I shook hands with the other speakers and the girls and made my way home. It was truly a once in a life time experience. And a first time feeling like a winner.
On the way home we stopped at Selayang Mall and ate some Popeye's. That was a first too. Stomachs full, we went back home. Talking about the competition along the way. Hearts overjoyed.
I truly miss new-found friends. And how Trester is an expert in making love....letters. Too bad life goes on, eh? I wished I could re-live the moment.
The rest is silence.

Insanity of the Day:
"If the teacher told me to talk about Silence in impromptu I would *stands quietly* there, silence" -Amirul on ridiculous impromptu topics.

The time of my life.
Most people tell me that I should spice up my life a little. And that's the reason why I wasn't so active in blogging these days past. So here's a few words to summarize it; "The time of my life". I realized that this year was my final year in high-school, and so I wanted to end it with the biggest bang I can ever achieve.
Now some of my friends might know that I used to dance, I quit the endeavor back in 2008. But recently, on the 17th of May 2010, Teacher's Day at my school, I finally took the stage and danced. Of course, the long hiatus from moving to the beat has left me but a shell of my former dancer self. But for the curious cats out there reading this blog, here's the video of me dancing:
I might not be the best dancer, but I danced to my heart's content. By the way, my dance only starts at 2:17, the girls went first, and I'm the guy in the black hoodie and khaki-colored long pants.
Now the real reason why I'm loving life right now is because I have finally found where my scarred heart can be mended and how I can do the same for that person. In other words, I have a girlfriend now. And this time I'm pretty sure it'll work out. You know what, my dear readers? Fate does find it's way to each person, you just have to be patient enough to wait. Despite only being together with her for about a week now, I already feel that I've been together with her for years. And it's safe to assume that we're going steady now. She totally rocks my world.
Other than games and exams, my life is still pretty much that of my norms, but just much more enjoyable.
P.S. Live life to the max.
And to you my dear, te amo per sempre, piu che altro.

Chain of Memories
Memories are like an endless chain, a never-ending cycle that repeats itself through life. Though some maybe bitter, filled with utter discord, yet there are tiny sparks of light that illuminate the dark. These blissful moments that I adore.
My friend did a post on his reminisce with his girlfriend whom what I would call a bittersweet moment in life. Even though that moment is over, he is still finding his way around his own darkness, through his current life. I didn't find my light, it came to me.
I had a friend. She was my first serious crush, the first person who encouraged me to sing and dance, the first girl to tell me that looks isn't everything. The person who was always there for me when I hit rock-bottom. And most importantly, the only person who made me feel significant when the whole world was against me. The chains I forged with her were one of bittersweet moments, sometimes we might be in an argument but in the end we felt as if we need each other when prejudice fills our hearts. I broke down when she had a boyfriend and canceled me out. And she broke down when I left her alone after she broke up and it happened twice. In the end we realized, we still needed each other and there's nothing that could separate us.
Now we were back like how we used to be. I was her hero and she's my heroine. I was searching for redemption for the ignorance I gave her in the past, and I want to help her through her life again, that much I can promise. A few days back, I was on the phone with her and told her the honest truth of us needing each other. And that we should try to get together, so the whole affair could be easier. "Hmmm... I'll think about it." she said rather hesitantly. All I can do now is wait for a 3 syllable word that would be gently whispered out of her lips.
This post is for you, know that I'm always there for you.
ciao i miei amici, e il mio amore.

Of a father's compassion and holding myself back.

Nier. The single oddly spelled name has made his way to one of my most respected characters ever made. His unyielding persona, and compassion for those around him is hard to come by in real life. His kindness of helping those in need and giving his all to save his daughter, Yonah from the dreaded Black Scrawl disease is reason enough to play the game. Great story, decent gameplay and superb voice-acting. My only complaint towards Nier is the repetitive side-quests mandatory to get cash from, that concludes my brief review of the game I'm currently playing.
Now, some of you may know I've been trying to go after a certain girl, but well, in the end, things didn't work out. And I've come to a realization, that meeting random girls isn't the way to go. So from this moment on, I won't go after any girls anymore. "Leave it to fate." said my good friend; Nathalie. And leaving it to fate I will. For those of you who are in a relationship, congratulations and keep it that way, you're lucky enough to love and to be loved back. Now as I look back, the only people I see are my friends and friends only.
Anyways, ciao miei cari lettori.
P.S. Stay true to yourself.

Patience
A boy lets go of the one he's infatuated to, realizing it was a mistake. He was drowned in a sea of sorrow, but one of angelic grace appeared before him. Unintentionally bringing him to his former, cheery self. The boy talks to the angelic figure, and finally, the overwhelming feelings dispersed just like water transmuting into gas. He realized that the angelic figure was just an ordinary girl. Yet, deep within his lost soul, there was a feeling growing for that angelic figure, and so began the tale of his new muse.
Days past, day by day he realizes that his feelings for her growing deeper and deeper. Each moment without her was but a stake impaled to his already fragile heart. He waited, and waited, patience growing thin, he sent her a message, seeking to acquire her latest shenanigans. Yet, his message was replied naught. All he can do now is wait, wait for his angel to descend upon him once more, the boy who bears the patience of millenniums, as he waits, he wonders...is the wait worth it so?

6 months till Doomsday and it's still a melodramatic life.
So, it's May. And it's going to be 6 more months until "judgement day" AKA SPM. Not that I worry or anything, since I'm confident from the neck up that I'm gonna ace the test. But what concerns me is the irony, that this very year, 2010; has the most melodramatic turn of events in my life (well, not so much) and those around me.
I mean c'mon, 09' didn't have these kinds of things going on. Like for instance my 2 closest friends getting together, my friend having a bad time with his relationship some people doubting their relationships, some getting stronger, or things like me, this year, having my first relationship and break-up, first time ACTUALLY getting depressed and getting up from where I fell. My dearly beloved readers what I'm trying to say is, 2010 is a year full of drama. I've never witnessed so much love problems in a year before. Heck, if I was a licensed psychologist, I would have made MILLIONS of cash.
But hey, I'm not one who expects ANYTHING in return, never did.
MOVING ON,
well, I AM moving on, I admit it, a few weeks back I fell for a girl, but in the end, I thought that it was worthless to go after her, it's just not worth it. Maybe I do deserve better, and that's why I'm moving on. I don't know who, but I'm sure I will meet the right girl at one point in my life. Or maybe, I already did.
P.S. Love is like a flower that takes time to blossom it's beautiful sight.

Iron men, choices and fairy tales.

Considering the circumstances of my current life, how unrequited love can be. Robert Downey Jr. and a fictional iron suit made from polygons and textures were the only things keeping me happy. Yes, Iron Man 2 is the only thing that kept my cheeriness. The movie gets a solid 9.5 out of 10 from me. The story was great, the actors, especially Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man) and Mickey Rourke (Whiplash/Ivan Vanko) were THE best. Downey Jr. who played Tony gave the character it's witty and cynical persona, his acting made me feel as if Tony Stark was real, while Rourke in the other hand, aced the "bad mother fucker" persona, him being Whiplash, a villain created especially for the movie, made Iron Man 2 as one of the most innovative movies ever, since not every comic-to-silver screen movie has an original villain. Of course the movie has an outstanding cast, mainly consisting of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. The only thing that didn't win me over was the final battle. It could have been longer and more thrilling, but the whole experience of the movie makes up for it.
Alas, after the movie, I went back into depression mode. I figured if I went to the arcades , I could release the lamenting side of me on pixelated bad guys. But no, it didn't work well, I am still rather down, maybe it's time for me to move on, I dunno. But watching 2 of my closest friends "expressing" their affection right behind me while I was shooting really broke my concentration, and made me realize, not everyone lives a life of fairy tales. I don't have love as easy as theirs, maybe I never will.
I'm sorry, It's just that the plethora of emotions dwelling within my sea of soul are consuming me. I should be an AM happy that I helped my friends in a way. But at the same time, jealousy overcomes me, no, not because one of my female friend is smitten, it's the fact that other people have better lives than me.
I can't disclose who were they, but I think they're satisfied. And for that, I have naught but a brief respite.
Maybe...just maybe, I should just move along.
P.S. the world is not enough.

Kindness Has No Perks.
To be frank, I'm the kind of person who believes that if someone does something good to another, he/she will be rewarded one way or another with good in the future. It is somewhat leaning towards the Karma system, in my opinion.
But yesterday I realized that kindness does nothing, one moment I'm getting "thank you"s from someone, and the next moment where I accidentally cracked up a lame joke, that person lies to me and ignores me. That's a nice "reward".
Then today, I was just trying to help a friend who's in a pitch with the discipline teachers by telling him to calm down and don't just quit from the prefectorial board from one small mishap. He listened. But when the angry teacher walked back into class, I got lectured for trying to solve a problem. "ARE YOU TRYING TO BE SOME SORT OF HERO, JONATHAN?!" the teacher shouted. I didn't reply. As I always mentioned, adults are ridiculously fatuous. So I don't really care.
No matter, I'm still a individual with firm beliefs and I will not yield. If the risks of being kind are so, then so be it. Now I have to go to that cursed Economics tuition.
ciao.

Oh Star...
"Oh star, fall down on me..... let me make a wish upon you...."
Those are the first words in the lyrics of Oh Star by Paramore. And that sentence keeps playing itself in my head, over and over like a broken record.
Oh the things I wished to be granted. I wished I was one step closer in reaching her heart. I wished she wouldn't be so ignorant. I wished my decisions are always right. I wished I wasn't born into a household and raised by greedy jackasses. I wished I could undo the wrongs I did in my life. I wish the world isn't superficial.
Sorry, for some reason, I'm feeling rather down today. I'm not sure why. But listening to this song, it just made me want to blog, about my wishes that will never come true.
P.S. Life isn't fair.

Of kicking ass and suprises
Hmmm...nothing to do...might as well blog of today's turn of events. Today was rather special. It wasn't just like any other Saturday, this is pretty much the summary of today:
So I woke up in the morning, feeling like going back to sleep, since I woke up at 7AM-ish to go to school for prize giving day, and had to be a back-up welcoming committee for the VIP. For the first time in my high-school life, I get to wear a blazer, now that's nigh laughable, since I always wanted to wear a blazer. SO I got my prize and IMMEDIATELY told my dad to drive me back home, since I'm the catalyst for today's event, which was organizing a get-together with my friends and to go watch a movie, and lunch.
The night before was hectic, since I had to plan on who's doing what. And an unexpected someone finally decided to join us. But the next day, it all pull through and I think everyone was happy. Me, Eunice, (yes, this is my first time mentioning her in my blog, she was the unexpected one to come and join us, I met her a week ago.) Ritchie, Nathalie, Susan...and Susan's boyfriend who tagged along were the ones there.
So finally when I got a call from Nathalie as I was practicing piano, embracing it's elegant sounds, I finally got to the cinemas, Susan already was lining-up to get tickets to watch Kick-Ass, me an Nat were talking, until a few minutes later, Ritchie called, he showed up with Eunice. Since he was in-charge of picking her up. So I get to meet up with Eunice for the first time, and Nathalie gets to meet some of my friends, while Ritchie gets to meet Nathalie again.
So Susan decided to go and walk around with her boyfriend, and then there was 4.... Ritchie and Nathalie bolted and walked waaaaaaaaaaays in front of me and Eunice. Ritchie you sly bastard you. So I was walking with Eunice...until...I saw...Jane.Lee. She totally misunderstood, I was just walking with her, nothing more. So we got our stomachs filled and talked. Then we rushed to the cinemas and watched Kick-Ass.
The movie...KICKED.ASS. It's really good, and it's totally a worth-watching flick. I recommend it to people who like comedy, action and drama. Though the movie started out funny and not serious at all. It ended up as something people can learn from that it's not "With No Power Comes No Responsibilities." but everyone plays a part in society, though their deeds forgotten, the feeling of victory is still sweet. Hit-Girl was totally my favorite hero in the movie, since she does most of the awesome things, the movie even has Call of Duty references!
So after that we went hunting for guitar strings. Eunice had to replace hers since she wanted to play guitar. After that, I went and buy some snacks at Carl's Jr. even though I ate most of it. We also went and see some pets since the bowling alley was full (bowling was our initial idea) After that, we said our farewells for now, and I actually wanted to take a picture of us 4 (Susan and her boyfriend once again disappeared after the movie.) But no one wanted, so in the end only me and Eunice took a picture.
After that, I left for my music class and the rest went back home.
The rest is silence.

Quote of the Day: "I care about you a lot." Kick-Ass' way of saying "I love you"
Insanity of the Day:
Choral Speakers: We share the food that we eat! We share the words that we speak!
Me: *whispers to Hon Pann* We share the beds that we sleep...
Hon Pann: We share the condoms that we use.
Me: what...?
